Grace joined KW Therapy Ltd as an Occupational Therapist in 2025 after completing her BSc (Hons) in Occupational Therapy. She previously graduated with a BSc (Hons) in Applied Psychology, a degree that deepened her understanding of human behaviour and mental health. However, she soon realised she wanted to take a more proactive, functional role in supporting people through their rehabilitation journey. This led her to pursue occupational therapy, recognising how meaningful occupation and practical improvements in daily life can positively influence a person’s overall wellbeing.
Before becoming an Occupational Therapist, Grace worked extensively within the hospitality sector. This provided her with a wealth of transferable skills including communication, adaptability, organisation, and the ability to work sensitively with people from all background. These are qualities that she now applies daily within her OT practice.
Grace’s previous experience lies within community mental health and cognitive rehabilitation. She has developed strong skills in assessing and supporting individuals with cognitive difficulties, using both standardised and non-standardised assessments to shape goal-focused, individualised treatment plans.
She has experience working with clients with complex needs and challenging presentations, which has enabled her to strengthen her core occupational therapy skills including communication, problem-solving, activity analysis, clinical reasoning, and understanding the impact of illness or injury on the wider family system. She is confident in taking a sensitive, person-centred approach, recognising the importance of balancing physical, cognitive, and emotional needs when supporting recovery.
Whilst working at KW Therapy, she has worked specifically well with older clients who have been diagnosed with Dementia and other behavioural presentations and has brought her patience, understanding and knowledge to assist both carers and the client to improve their functional independence. She has a particular interest in environmental adaptations and understands the powerful impact that even small pieces of equipment or simple home modifications can have on a person’s independence, safety, and confidence. Grace currently has a few paediatric cases and her ability to work with children shines through and is seen with the outstanding outcomes achieved. As a parent as well as an occupational therapist she can approach families in an empathetic and positive manner.
Grace values the holistic, dual-focused nature of occupational therapy, appreciating how physical health, mental health, and meaningful activity are deeply interconnected. She places great importance on building collaborative relationships with clients and their families to ensure goals remain meaningful, achievable, and aligned with what matters most to the individual.
She is committed to ongoing professional development and maintains an active portfolio. Grace regularly attends training, workshops, and multidisciplinary learning opportunities to ensure her practice remains evidence-based and aligned with current developments in the profession. She enjoys working closely with colleagues from different disciplines to contribute to effective multidisciplinary teamwork and deliver high-quality, client-centred care.
