We are delighted to welcome our new Occupational Therapist, Kate Shepherd, to the KW Therapy team.
Kate has worked in a variety of settings including in general medicine, medical rehabilitation, general surgery, elective orthopaedics and stroke and neurological rehabilitation. The last 5 years of her career have been spent working within stroke and neuro rehabilitation inpatient services at Fairfield General Hospital, with a focus on completing functional assessments of daily living activities to provide therapy to enhance independence and improve an individual’s quality of life.
Her specialities lie within stroke and brain injury and include:
- upper limb rehabilitation
- specialist wheelchair and seating assessments, equipment and adaptations
- moving and handling
- cognitive rehabilitation.
