Angela Estwick BSc (Hons) OT
Angela has over 21 years of experience as a fully qualified state registered Occupational Therapist. She began her career in Occupational Therapy as an Occupational Therapy Assistant and spent 12 years before studying part-time in order to qualify as an Occupational Therapist.
Over the years Angela has worked in a wide variety of settings including neurology, general medical conditions, mental health, amputees and vascular surgery, general surgery, hand therapy including wound care management, and trauma and orthopaedics.
She specialises in the field of Musculoskeletal and Rheumatology conditions as well as the specialist area of upper limb rehabilitation and hand therapy. Angela continues to work towards accreditation as a hand therapist.
Angela has specialist skills in splinting (including post-surgical), scar massage and wound management, burns, sleep disorders/sleep hygiene, pain management, Fatigue management and energy conservation, Fibromyalgia and cognitive behavioural management.
Angela has completed the moving and handling train the trainer qualification and provides specific and bespoke training courses and information to clients, families and support staff.
She has re-established her interest in neurological rehabilitation and has worked with clients, successfully achieving the clients’ desired outcomes. This involved functional rehabilitation programme including personal and domestic daily activities and community based activities.
Angela has experience of assessment and recommendation reports for rehabilitation, treatment and training for clients, assessment and provision of equipment including wheelchairs, education to families and carers, functional assessments of daily living activities in order to enhance independence and improve quality of life.
Angela has a strong work ethic and uses a person-centered approach with a particular interest in developing a client’s Occupational Performance. She maintains a professional development portfolio and, as such, attends training, conferences and seminars to keep up to date with the latest evidence-based practice
